Safe Mode
Starting Windows 95 in SAFE MODE bypasses the startup files such as the Config.sys, Autoexec.bat files, the Registry, and the System.ini [Boot] and [386Enh] sections. The user is then able to access the Windows 95 configuration files and make changes such as device drivers.
Safe Mode can be used to troubleshoot driver problems. Start Windows if it hangs after the 'Starting Windows 95' message appears or diagnoses printing problems.
